Pitchfork Releases Schedule, Adds Comedy Stage, SaturdayTickets Sold Out

With a little less than a month left, Pitchfork Music Festival is just about completely sold out. The three-day passes were scooped up in record time, and all that remain are single-day passes for Friday, which can be bought here. I actually just sold my three-day pass as I have decided that I don't want to deal with the crowd this year. I have elected to catch Pavement at Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in September.

You can check out the schedule
here.

Thank Boosh It's Friday!

Today is a really big day! Not only are the Blackhawks having their Stanley Cup celebration (sorry Trey), the World Cup has started, and Phish starts their summer tour! I won't be at the show tonight, but I will see ten shows, so I am not that upset. Bonnaroo kicked off last night and don't forget to check out their webcast schedule. I am working on a new template for the site, so look for some changes.

Hump Day Happenings

It's been a pretty quick week, but I am ready for it to be Friday. Tomorrow, I am going to see Phish 3D and I am pumped. I have heard mostly positive things and think it will be interesting to see the boys in 3D.

Hump Day Happenings

I checked out Longman & Eagle on Monday night and had a very good meal. When it comes to beer, I am definitely and IPA guy, but recently I have discovered Belgians. Anyone have any suggestions? Here is some news and a video to get you through your Wednesday.

2010 Pitchfork Music Fesival Lineup

What a way to start a Friday! The organizers of Pitchfork Music Festival unveiled an indie music fan's wet dream. The recently reunited Pavement will close out the festival, which had been confirmed a few days earlier. Modest Mouse and LCD Soundsystem will headline the other two nights. The festival, which takes place in the cozy confines of Chicago's Union Park will go down from July 16 - 18.

I would imagine that the tickets will sell out pretty quickly and there are still many more bands to be announced.

Tickets go on sale at noon Central time today at TicketWeb. Single-day passes cost $40, and three-day passes cost $90. (There are no two-day passes this year.) Lineup, so far, below:

Friday, July 16:
Modest Mouse

Saturday, July 17:

LCD Soundsystem
Raekwon
Here We Go Magic

Sunday, July 18:

Pavement
St. Vincent
Lightning Bolt
Cass McCombs
Sleigh Bells

Hump Day Happenings

Finally, with Festival 8 just a few days a way, Phish fans will begin to converge upon Indio, CA for this years biggest Halloween bash. I won't be attending the festival, but I will certainly be following the weekends events closely. There is all kinds of speculation of what Phish will play for their Halloween costume, but below are my top three choices and my dark horse pick.
  1. Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
  2. The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street
  3. David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
  4. MGMT - Oracular Spectacular (My dark horse pick)
