Your Late Local News
I had a great weekend and I am "finally" settled in my new place. On Friday, I made the short trek to South Bend to catch Wilco, and they didn't disappoint as usual. On Saturday, I had a really great meal in Chinatown at a restaurant called Hing Kee. Yesterday, I went down to Wicker Park fest and checked out Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. I hadn't seen them before, but it's safe to say the next time they are in Chicago I will be there. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hump Day Happenings
I am currently sitting in my hotel room in Rochester, NY just about to hit the road for Raleigh, NC. Both of the Phish shows I have seen so far have been very very good, but MPP night two, set two has been the best set so far. I am really pumped for the final four shows of the tour. Here is some news and a video of Phish covering Neutral Milk Hotel's "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea"

Pitchfork Releases Schedule, Adds Comedy Stage, SaturdayTickets Sold Out

With a little less than a month left, Pitchfork Music Festival is just about completely sold out. The three-day passes were scooped up in record time, and all that remain are single-day passes for Friday, which can be bought here. I actually just sold my three-day pass as I have decided that I don't want to deal with the crowd this year. I have elected to catch Pavement at Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in September.
You can check out the schedule here.

Hump Day Happenings
Last night, I checked out Them Crooked Vultures at the Aragon Ballroom. Aside from Josh Homme getting drunk throughout the show, I really enjoyed the performance. There were times during the two hour set that the energy lacked, but the band brought it most of the night. It's very clear that Dave Grohl is enjoying being out of the limelight and playing drums. It was also a pleasure to watch him own his kit! Here is some news and a video to get you over the hump day known as Wednesday.

2010 Pitchfork Music Fesival Lineup

What a way to start a Friday! The organizers of Pitchfork Music Festival unveiled an indie music fan's wet dream. The festival, which takes place in the cozy confines of Chicago's Union Park will go down from July 16 - 18.
I would imagine that the tickets will sell out pretty quickly and there are still many more bands to be announced.
