I had a great weekend and I am "finally" settled in my new place. On Friday, I made the short trek to South Bend to catch Wilco, and they didn't disappoint as usual. On Saturday, I had a really great meal in Chinatown at a restaurant called Hing Kee. Yesterday, I went down to Wicker Park fest and checked out Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. I hadn't seen them before, but it's safe to say the next time they are in Chicago I will be there. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Weezer To Give 'Pinkerton' Deluxe Treatment

For me, Pinkerton is the essential Weezer album. I know that may sound crazy, but there isn't much to not like about this album. I know it doesn't have the catchy songs that Weezer (The Blue Album) had, but it just straight up rocks.

Anyways, I got very excited when I saw that Pinkerton was going to get re-released with a few extra goodies. Amazon has started a page for the upcoming release, which has an October 5th release date.

Hump Day Happenings

It's been another busy week for me, but I am looking forward to my weekend, which should be uneventful. The next show I will be seeing is Wilco at Coveleski Field in South Bend, IN, but that's not until July 30. Tickets are still available and if you live within reasonable driving distance, I would recommend hitting up their last Midwest show of the year.

It was one hell of a day here in Chicago. The storms that passed through this evening were unlike anything I have ever seen. It took me a while, but I finally found a way home. Only a few more days and I will be on my way to Columbia, MD for Sunday's Phish show! And how can you forget Landon Donovan's stoppage time goal that put the US in the round of 16!!! USA USA

Thank Boosh It's Friday!

This has been an absolutely crazy week for me! I really didn't have much time to post anything aside for some Phish setlists. Tonight, I am going to see MGMT, and other than that, I don't have anything planned for the weekend. I might head up to Ravinia with some peeps tomorrow and check out Buddy Guy and JJ Grey & Mofro, but am undecided. I hope everyone has a great weekend! In case you missed it, the US got screwed out of the game winning goal against Slovenia!

It's no secret the Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo is an avid soccer player and fan. Weezer took to the studio and recorded an unofficial U.S. National Team song called "Represent".

Ottawa Bluefest Unveils Impressive Lineup

The Ottawa Bluesfest has announced their lineup and it's pretty awesome. The two week festival, which goes does from July 7 - 18 boasts an eclectic lineup covering all genres.

Highlights of the lineup include Rush, Weezer, Great Lake Swimmers, The Swell Season, The Flaming Lips, The B-52's, Steve Winwood, Santana, Passion Pit, Levon Helm, Kevin Costner and Modern West, Jimmy Cliff, Further, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band & Arcade Fire. Arcade Fire, Pavement, Weezer, The National Top Osheaga Music & Arts Festival

The lineup for the 5th annual Osheaga Music & Arts Festival has been announced. The festival, which takes place in Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène will be held from July 31 to August 1. Hometown heroes Arcade Fire will headline Saturday night and Weezer will headline the following night.

What’s more, in the days proceeding the festival, Osheaga will bring a series of acts to various venues across the city. So far, Chromeo is confirmed in Osheaga In The City. Additional acts will be announced in the weeks to come.

Tickets for both Osheaga In The Park and Osheaga In The City will go on sale starting Tuesday, March 23rd at noon via the festival’s website. You can check out the initial lineups below.

It was quite the weekend! I woke up this morning to the first snowfall in Chicago this winter. Even though the Bears beat the hopeless Rams, they still suck. The Bulls have been bad all season. At least the Blackhawks are winning. To top it all off, a naked guy ran on stage during Phish's final show of their fall tour in Charlottesville, VA on Saturday during "Yamar". Here a few stories to get your Monday going.

In other Weezer news, the band was forced to cancel the rest of their tour in support of Raditude after the tour bus carrying frontman Rivers Cuomo was involved in a one vehicle accident. There is a post on Weezer's official website documenting the accident. From what it sounds like, the bus driver did all he could to prevent the accident from being anymore worse than it was. We hope Rivers has a speedy recovery.

Finally, props to Sirius XM Radio for their coverage of Phish's Festival 8. Their feed was unbelievably clear and except for them cutting out "Driver" during the acoustic set, I would say it was a huge success. I would have preferred to be at the festival, but at the same time, sipping on a cold beer and listening to the shows from the comfort of my couch was pretty awesome. I will have a full recap of the weekend coming in the next few days.

Finally, Atlanta based metal heads Mastodon are staying busy. The band spent a good chunk of the summer touring Europe supporting Metallica. They are currently in the midst of a large US tour, which has shows booked until the end of November. After a very short break the band will head to Australia & New Zealand for the Big Day Out Festival. The band has recently scored the music for the film adaptation of the comic book Jonah Hex. Bassist Troy Sanders talked to Paste about the project.
