Monday Morning Coffee Break
I still don't have internet at my new place, so that is the cause of the lack of posts. I have pretty much settled into my new place (except the internet part) and am really enjoying it. I had a fantastic meal at Nightwood on Saturday and definitely recommend it. Goose Island on Clybourn has some great beers in tap including a collaboration with Paul Kahan of Publican. Here is some news and a video to get your Monday moving!

Monday Morning Coffee Break
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am pretty much finished moving and am starting to get settled. I still don't have internet in my new place, so that's a lot of the reason while I haven't been posting much of anything. I hope to have that problem remedied this week. In the meantime, I look forward to more posts as my blog is approaching it's first birthday! Grab a cup of coffee and check out some news and a video to jump start your Monday.

Monday Morning Coffee Break
I had a pretty chill weekend, but managed to catch MGMT at The Riv this weekend. I enjoyed the show, but the owners of the Riv need to find a way to cool that place down. It was hot as shit! I must say that the crowd was really annoying. They stood for the older stuff and sat for the new material for the most part. I love it that they played "Siberian Breaks", the 12 minute opus from Congratulations. You can check out the reviews from the Chicago Tribune & Sun Times. Anyways.... less than one week until I hit the road for my Phish road trip! First stop, Merriweather Post Pavilion on Sunday! Here's some news and a video to get your Monday moving.

It's only the first round of work, but I hope to be moved in by the second week of June. Yesterday, I attended my first ever Goose Island MBA reunion. Great beer & great food! In case you missed it, the Blackhawks are headed to the Stanley Cup Finals! Here is some news and a video to get your Monday moving!

Monday Morning Coffee Break
Happy Opening Day! I am cautiously optimistic for my White Sox this season, but it's a long season so we will see. I had a pretty chill weekend, but I did get out and try a new beer on Friday night. The beer engine at Map Room had Thornbridge Brewery's Jaipur IPA pouring. Unfortunately, they ran out, but I enjoyed the the one glass that I had. Don't forget that they announce the Lollapalooza lineup tomorrow. Here is some news and a video to get your Monday moving.

It's going to be a long week, but by the end of the week, I will know what Phish shows I will be going to this summer. I was able to get two tickets to the now sold-out MGMT show at The Riviera Theatre on June 18. I tried a Burton Bridge Old Expensive Ale, which is currently on the beer engine at Map Room. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Here is some news and a video of the Foo Fighters national television debut back in 1995 to get your Monday moving.

I had a really good time at the Jeff Tweedy show on Saturday night. It's always a treat to see him perform solo on an acoustic guitar. It also helps when he plays some Bob Dylan, Radiohead and of course Wilco. Don't forget to set your DVR's tonight for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Tune into Fuse TV at 8:30 pm ET for all the festivities. Here is some news and a video to get your Monday going.

The Bad Plus show on Friday night was sick! It had been awhile since I had seen them, but they put on a clinic. On Sunday, I watched Didier Drogba beat Arsenal himself. After that I was up in Evanston to see Northwestern take care of Indiana. I enjoyed the Super Bowl, but thought the commercials were pretty lame for the most part. The worst being the Doritos commercial with the guy in the coffin that falls out. Dumb. Paste runs down ten great Pepsi ads from past Super Bowls. Here is some news to help kick start your Monday.

I had a great weekend, but it sucks that it's Monday. On Saturday, I made my first trip to Three Floyds Brewing Company in lovely Munster, IN. I tried a beer called Ham on Rye and yes, it tasted like a ham sandwich. I will add that I did enjoy the beer. I also had an incredible meal at Belly Shack on Sunday! We tried the Belly Dog, Roasted Squash, Boricua & the Korean BBQ Kogi. It sounds like a lot of food, but we didn't leave stuffed. Here is some news to kick start your Monday.
