The organizers of Wakarusa unveiled their initial lineup yesterday. STS9 and The Disco Biscuits top off this years bill. Other artists include Slightly Stoopid, John Butler Trio, Blues Traveler, Ivan Neville's Dumpastaphunk and many more. I am not a big fan of the lineup as I feel it's pretty weak up top, but there are some good mid and lower tier bands. Today, Wanee Festival announced their lineup and it's very solid. Widespread Panic and Gov't Mule will headline the festival that takes place in Live Oak, FL. Other notable artists on the bill include Stephen Stills, The Black Keys, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band and many more.

It's almost time for festival organizers to start unveiling their initial artist rosters. The folks at Consequence of Sound has the 411 on rumors and early confirmations. You can check it out here. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Allman Brothers Band recently announced their annual residency in NYC this March. This time they will be calling the United Palace Theater home. Due to a scheduling conflict, the band will not be able to hunker down at the Beacon Theatre,which has usually hosted the band during the residency. The band has eight shows confirmed (March 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20). Last year the band celebrated their 40th anniversary in style. Guests included Eric Clapton, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Buddy Guy, Levon Helm and many more. Check out the video below showcasing the United Palace Theater.

This week saw the announcement of the NOLA Jazz & Heritage Festival, moe.'s annual Summer Camp Festival & the second annual Big Ears Festival initial lineups. Last year, Langerado was forced to put their festival on hold and this year it appears that the 10,000 Lakes Festival is the latest victim. JamBase has the scoop.

Eric Clapton has announced shows in both Europe and the US, but these aren't your run of the mill shows . Clapton will join forces with Jeff Beck in New York and in Canada in late February. Shortly after that, Clapton will hop on the road with Roger Daltrey for some arena shows in the US. Come spring time, Clapton will find himself in Europe touring with Steve Winwood. I am hoping that Clapton will announce a Chicago show in the near future. Check out the dates here.

I am not a fan of The Black Eyed Peas, but the group has announced the first dates of a global tour. The two month trek begins on February 4th in Atlanta. Will.I.Am is promising that the tour will be a one of a kind experience. The band is also going green for the tour. The band will place recycling bins throughout the venue to collect all the plastic bottles. The band will turn the plastic into fabric for BEP swag after the tour concludes.
