Living in Chicago definitely has it's perks when it comes to live music. On any given night, you can see a show covering just about every genre of music.Blues Fest, Jazz Fest, SummerDance, Music Without Borders, and Downtown Sound are all programs put on by the city that are FREE. It's hard to beat sitting in Grant Park on a nice June night listening to some of the best blues in the world.
Chicago is feeling the economical crunch and with that our free music programs are being threatened. The Chicago City Council is putting together it's budget for next year and the city's music, arts, and other cultural programs are facing budget cuts. Friends of Chicago Music have put together a petition online to support these wonderful programs. Click here to sign the petition.
